With the recent merger of OMISTA and York Credit Unions we are thrilled to provide expert financial service to over 10,000 owners ranging from Fredericton, to Oromocto, to Moncton, and beyond. Over the next little while you will notice some changes to our site. We are working to fully incorporate all aspects and service offerings of our five OMISTA branches. OMISTA Credit Union’s beginnings in Moncton are tied to our history with CN and date back to 1938. York Credit Union began as Saint Dunstan’s Credit Union in Fredericton in 1953. In August 1999 York Credit Union amalgamated with Base Gagetown-Oromocto Credit Union.

York has had a strong history and focus on growth and opportunities that benefits all owners, and as a result, recognized the growth opportunity through amalgamation. Mergers are a strategic means to advance our Credit Union network.

Strength and adaptability are themes that run through OMISTA’s history. We have always strived to be a successful organization, but also to be a little different in a way that improves quality of life for owners. OMISTA focuses on what is important to you, our owners - continuing to be a strong, stable Credit Union with vital resources.
