As CEO of our new merged organization, I am pleased to announce OMISTA and York Credit Union owners voted “yes!” and approved the multi-city merger at their meetings in Moncton and Fredericton on December 1st and 2nd respectively. Our employee team is working to integrate both product and service offerings as well as the current York and OMISTA websites. Over the coming months you will notice updates to the website, with the York Credit Union website eventually redirecting to www.omista.com. We are also working toward combining our banking systems, which will be finalized by late spring or early summer. We will keep you informed of important changes and notify you should there be any effect on your accounts or services. Our goal is to integrate operations with minimal impact to you, our owners.
Effective January 1st, 2010 the new OMISTA Credit Union is a 5-branch operation, managing approximately $232 million in assets, with 6 ATM locations. Three branches are located in Moncton (Mountain Road, Cornhill Street and Heritage Court), one in Fredericton (Queen Street) and one in Oromocto (Canex Mall), with the 6th ATM located at the Fredericton Direct Charge Co-op. The new OMISTA Credit Union has 80 employees and is the second largest in New Brunswick, close to the average Canadian Credit Union size of $264 million.
Together, Credit Unions form the nation’s largest network of financial institutions and rank with Canada’s top financial service providers. OMISTA is dedicated to provide you with the most effective financial services and wise financial guidance to empower you to make the best decisions for your financial wellbeing. We look forward to continuing to provide the same caliber of professional service that you have enjoyed over the years, delivered through a larger team of financial professionals in Fredericton, Oromocto and Moncton.
